Arcadia Unified School District’s Board of Education voted unanimously at its February 28 meeting on a resolution that will save Arcadia taxpayers over $40 million. The savings will come by way of refinancing bonds that were obtained through the Measure I, Facilities Bond. Read more here.
This was the 16th time the Apaches have marched in the prestigious Rose Parade. The Arcadia High Band has also marched in two Presidential Inaugural Parades (1957 Dwight Eisenhower, 2005 George W. Bush). The band also performed at the very first Super Bowl in 1967, in the 1981 World Series, the Gator Bowl, Alamo Bowl, was featured in an NFL Super Bowl commercial last year, and has won countless field show competitions. Hundreds of students throughout the entire Arcadia Unified School District are participating in the global Hour of Code movement where they are taught about computer science and coding. There are even many Kindergarten classes in the Arcadia Unified School District, including Ms. Pinto's at Holly Avenue Elementary School, where students as young as 5 years old are learning to code.
